Proud? You bet.
That is our son standing with the dean of each college from which he received a degree (double major of Fine Art and Communication) as well as the chancellor of UMD.
James was chosen to give the commencement speech out of 1,200 students who walked the stage. It was a cold day in Duluth but my heart kept me warm and smiling. You should have seen that kid get up in front of thousands and speak like it was no big deal.
Our last child goes out into the world....
I experienced another passage the same week when my father left this earth for another one alive with dogs and ice cream. I miss him dearly.
Death frees us from all infirmity.
What a blessing.
Hi Lisa!
Let me start by sending blessings to your father and your family...sorry to hear the news but I am sure he is happy now with his dogs and ice cream...too sweet.
On a lighter note, congrats to you for raising such a fine young man...you do have MUCH to be proud of!!!!

Wow.. Lisa.. It seems like yesterday when James left for Duluth to start his freshman year.. How very cool!!
Losing a parent is so hard. I have both of mine yet however, my mom is not completely there.. I cherish the time I spend with them.. They will be celebrating their 60th anniversary in July. Keep the faith Lisa... and I will be visiting soon.. I hope...

Such a handsome, kind face, your dad. So sorry for your loss, Lisa. We always miss them, but were so lucky to have them as our own. xoC
